Government servants
Travelling on official duty? We generate the completed 'Lampiran A' form for you as part of the application.
Age bands and acceptance criteria are set by each insurer and may change. The plans shown to you at quotation stage already reflect your travellers' ages.
When should you buy travel insurance?
The earlier you buy, the more you are protected — here is the timeline that matters
The day you book your trip
Cancellation cover only responds to events that happen after your policy is issued. Buying on booking day gives you the longest protection window.
At least one working day before departure
Policies are issued on working days. Applying early avoids last-minute issues with weekends and public holidays.
Before you leave Malaysia
Cover must start while you are still in the country. A policy cannot be backdated once your journey has begun.
When booking Umrah, Hajj or Ziarah
Buy your takaful together with your package so your deposits and non-refundable payments are protected from the start.
Before a group or company trip is confirmed
Group travel can be covered under a single group policy — arrange it while the traveller list is being finalised.
Too late: travel insurance cannot be purchased or extended after you have already departed, or to claim for something that has already happened.
What happens when things go wrong
Real situations travellers face, and how a travel plan typically responds
How a claim works
- 1Notify the insurer as soon as possible — most plans require it within 30 days of the incident.
- 2Collect your documents: police or airline reports, medical reports, original receipts and boarding passes.
- 3Submit the claim form and documents directly to the issuing insurer.
- 4Track the outcome with the insurer. We can help you with the right contact details and a copy of your policy.
Claims are assessed and paid by the insurer or takaful operator that issued your policy, subject to its terms and conditions.
What travellers say
Feedback from customers who bought their cover through MyArrehlah
"I compared four plans in one screen and understood exactly what I was paying for. The policy arrived by email the same day."
"Buying takaful for the whole family before our Umrah package was simple, and the coverage details were explained in plain language."

"Paid online and had the receipt and policy in minutes. Checking my application status later was straightforward."
What's happening in travel right now
Global developments that can affect your trip — and your cover

More countries are moving to electronic travel authorisation
Destinations across Europe, Asia and the Middle East are rolling out e-visas and pre-travel authorisation systems. Check the entry rules for every country on your itinerary, including transit stops, well before departure.
Check official advisory
Peak-season congestion keeps delays and misconnections common
School holidays, festive seasons and severe weather continue to strain major hubs. Travel delay and missed connection benefits are the most frequently used part of a travel plan.
Check official advisory
Saudi travel: sort permits and health requirements early
Visa categories, vaccination requirements and permit rules for Umrah and Hajj are reviewed regularly. Confirm the current requirements with your licensed travel operator before you pay in full.
Check official advisoryBefore every trip
Verify visa, health and safety requirements with official sources: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (Wisma Putra) and the destination country's own immigration authority.
